There are two races held over the weekend and we will base ourselves in Gunnedah. On the Saturday is the 110km Coonabarabran-Gunnedah handicap, then on the Sunday, the 107km Gunnedah-Tamworth graded scratch race. Meeting Point:

Depending on numbers and organisation.

What is it?

Two races over a great weekend.

Saturday is a handicap race (108km) known as the “Keegan Downes Memorial Sundowner Handicap”. This race is from Coonabarabran to Gunnedah.

Sunday is a scratch race (107km) known as the “Gunnedah to Tamworth” and is from Gunnedah to Tamworth.

There is usually a dinner put on by race organisers on the Saturday night. Last year was really great food and they organized Mike Tomalaris and Shane Kelly as special guest speakers. An awesome evening!
