Battle of the Bridge Round 3 - Beauie Worlds Edition.

Sunday 21st brought the Battle of the Bridge to Beauemont Road and it was clearly to anyone that attended the race on theweekend that Alexis needs to head back to pre-school to learn to count. With each club assigned 8 riders per club per grade as there was a sea of smurf blue, with MWCC entering 17 riders into B Grade alone. Suvelo had a good strong contingent, while RBCC must of got lost somewhere heading north as they struggled to hit double figures.

Folks

While we watch the TDF warriors battle the brutal climbs, let's turn our minds to a course of a different kind - the super-quick Beauie crit circuit. This is Sydney's premier criterium race.

Yes Beauie is back for our monthly schedule of great (and safe) crit racing. Format will be scratch races across four grades A-D. All NSCC club members need to get out there on Sunday to ensure they catch the selector's eye for the next round of Battle of the Bridge, to be held at Beauie on 21 August.

Yesterday 21 NSCC warriors rode across the bridge to Heffron Park at Maroubra to do our club proud at the first round of the Battle of the Bridge inter-club series.

It was great seeing a big NSCC bunch ride down the Pacific Highway - same coming back after the race - and old timers like Matt Garnon reminisced to us youngsters about the glory days when this used to happen back in the day.

In the three grades there were massive bunches and our three race captains - Mick Cupitt, Matt Garnon and Pete Beaumont - all led from the front with each getting on the podium.
