Beauie Worlds Sunday 21st May

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

This Sunday sees the monthly Beauie World Titles - the region's best criterium race.

We're expecting all the big hitters back from last week's Grafton-to-Inverell, so A grade will be fiercely contested with Sydney's best riders who will relish a shorter fast course after the brutal G2I.

The Beauie course is smooth hotmix bitumen, unlike the photo of the G2I dead roads.

Racing will be a scratch race over four grades, A-D, and registration can be pre-booked using the link on this website, or you can register on the day. Registration will be open from 7.30am for an 8.15am rollout.

Cootamundra Opens Racing This Weekend

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The famous Cootamundra Haycarters Handicap - or Coota as it is better known - is one the the NSW Open classics.

Rolling terrain on those infamous dead roads where you feel like you are pedalling through treacle, makes this a hard race. That's why it is always seen as the benchmark for true race form.

Being a handicap means that its full gas all the way as the aim is to catch the bunch up the road, yet not get caught by the chasing bunches - as they say you're always on the rivet.

This year NSCC has a smaller contingent than in the past, however the team is quality.

Former club junior and now NSW U23 road champion, Michael Potter, is a fantastic example and role model of the NSCC club values.

At the recent State Road Championships, Michael outclassed a red hot field to take the gold medal in an eye-catching performance, that has earned him a ride in Europe at the top level. The win followed other recent top results with podium at Blayney to Bathurst, and a win at the Bathurst Hill Climb champs.

Beauie Worlds Easter Monday 17th April

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Folks

After two rained-out Beauies this year, the club committee and especially El Pres George Mouyahet, have been seeking guarantees from the Weather Bureau that we will have fine weather this weekend.

And the forecast looks perfect as we host the traditional Easter Monday Beauie Worlds. New Beauie Supremo Bob (Attaquer) Santone has his team prepped and ready to put on a great race on NSW's best criterium course. We are expecting a big turnout as everyone wants to race Beauie on Easter Monday, so we advise competitors to pre-book via the club webshop on the NSCC home page.

Saluting Club Legend - Craig Stevens

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

For the past several years, once and sometimes twice a month, our beloved Beauie Race Coordinator - Craig Stevens - has been running our crit races at Beaumont Road.

Many club members perhaps do not realise how much effort goes into running races - not just on the race day, but all the preparatory work to organise Traffic Controllers, liaise with other clubs and making sure the course is in good condition for race day.

Craig has been doing this hard work - like all the volunteers who comprise the club committee - for one reason, he loves the club and the sport of competition cycling.
