Saturday 26 October will see the running of the 53rd Grafton to Inverell Classic across 3 grades, with A grade competing as a National Road Series event. The race is often referred to as Australia's toughest one day race and compared with the Melbourne Warrnambool race.

NSCC has seven riders ended across the three grades
- Saxon Irvine
- David Spessot
- James Swadling
- Daniel McGuigan
- Andrew McKensey
- Peter Daniels
- Neil Matthews

The 228 km race includes the 18km climb up the Gibraltar Range after the 80km marker. On top of the range, the riders will be hoping for calm weather and not the westerly wind experienced in past years. The last 30kms into Inverell is a little friendly except for the nasty berg about 5kms from the finish.

NRS riders have finished in about 6 hours averaging about 38kph, with C grade taking up to 7.5 hours at 31kph. A big day out!

Good luck to all the NSCC riders, and thank you to all the swaniers helping out for the day. The race could not be done without your support.
