Beauie Worlds Oct 3

A dedicated bunch rolled up to Beauie Worlds this morning after an early scare from an unwelcome shower. It was great to see riders from a number of other clubs including the ever present, Manly Warringah CC, Central Coast CC & Lidcombe Auburn CC.

Although the bunches were generally small, the racing was very competitive with all grades blowing to pieces by the finish.

A grade breakaway

Strong breakaways in both A & B ended the chance of a bunch kick with Robert Malicki and Colin Carrigan (MWCC) and Andrew Hellmich (CCCC) getting away mid race in B grade set to dual it out for the podium spots.

Manly & Central Coast worked well

B Grade Bunch

In A Grade the race winning break of Maddog Morris (NSCC), Mick Curran (CCCC), Nash Kent (LACC) and Jake Kauffman (MWCC) escaped on lap 3 to never be seen again. The bunch chased hard for 50min but finally disintegrated with a few laps to go.

Nash & Dog

A grade breakaway

C grade was a closer affair with the race holding together longer until the final laps when Lachlan Edwards (St George CC) broke away for a solo win ahead of Mark Redimerio (LACC) in 2nd & Roger Shackleton (MWCC) in 3rd.

A Grade

1st Justin Morris (NSCC)
2nd Nash Kent (LACC)
3rd Mick Curran (CCCC)

A Grade Win

B Grade

1st Robert Malicki (MWCC)
2nd Colin Carrigan (MWCC)
3rd Andrew Hellmich (CCCC)

Hi, George here.

Today was my first ever crit!

I learned heaps and had a really good time.

Big thanks to NSCC for putting on the race and to all the volunteers & officials for their time.

This is an excellent racing opportunity and great motivation to get active again.

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend.
