Beauie Results - Sunday 17 February

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The threat of bad weather and a disappointing turn-out for A/C grade. The most encouraging event of the day was seeing around 8 guys from B grade all take the plunge to step up and have a crack at A Grade.

Gday, Hola, Ciao,

The past few months has seen some interesting travels and the collection of many more tales for the brew shop back home. I flew home to Sydney just before Christmas last year. This was a marvellous time reconnecting with friends and family in the Great Southern Land! Australia really is my favourite place in the world. Not only is it stunningly beautiful, I am lucky to have the best family and mates there. This is what makes a place home, which you come to appreciate fervently when you spend extended periods away.

My take on the weekend….

You don’t stop doing things when you get old, you get old because you stop doing things. That was the philosophy behind this weekend away with some of NSCC’s finest, all on the wrong side of 40. This was to be the biggest one day ride most of us had ever attempted. The ‘Warnie’.

As you know Baz Kenyon, Neil Matthews, Simon Davies and I went down last weekend for the Warnie. The transport, accommodation and company were all fantastic. Thanks to my brother for being swanny for the weekend and listening patiently to our lame jokes and complaining.

Andrew East wins convincingly in State Champs MMAS3

There were multiple attempts by other riders to get away from the field in the MMAS3 race. It was a very solid field and the right combination did not form. Andrew East showed his class and made the move on the final climb to stay away by 100m. The Ex-Pro Mountain biker definitely has the motor and the tactical nous. A well deserved win.
