NSCC Round-up - 26th June 2013

So with arguably the biggest bike race only around the corner and being the one eyed Englishman that I am, I only want Cav and Froome to Win Green and Yellow respectively, however you can all dream that Cadel will be in the mix. Also I hope the Lions win on Saturday as well!

Simon has sent me over his account of his time while racing the Tour of Tahiti. It gives a great insight into the life of what a PRO must be like. Simon had a very strong ride at the Tour including holding a number of Jerseys and wearing Yellow for a couple of days as well.

Some additional Pics to be uploaded later tonight.

Beauie Worlds Race report by Archie Wilson

We had a large turn-out on a very chilly winter's morning for the June Beauie worlds. Plenty of hard action soon got the blood pumping and everyone forgot about the cold air, as the pace was on in all grades.

Hello NSCC members …

Firstly, I would like to welcome to the new NSCC committee and believe we have a solid mix of skills and backgrounds to support the club’s direction.

Most importantly, and on behalf of the NSCC members, I want to thank the past committee for their efforts, especially Matt Garnon and Phil Youdale who have stepped down after many years of service to the club. The new committee intends to meet past committee members, to manage the transition, and to understand the current agenda and issues going forward.

NSCC's Rob Hodgson

It is with great regret that the club advises of the passing of Robert Hodgson. Rob will always be remembered as one of our great riders. Few riders of Rob's ability and humility come around and when they do they seem destined and deserving of great things.

Smiles on Faces - Win Races :)

Having just landed in the USA for the 2013 racing season, it feels as though the next chapter of my 2013 journey has begun. Since my last post from Milan in January, a fantastic, joy filled time has been had, predominantly in Australia. Due to some delays with the processing of my US visa I was able to stay put at home for an extended period of time. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, spending quality time with friends and family before an extended trip overseas was treasured.

NSCC riders support the YOTS charity by pedaling from Sydney to the Gold Coast

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Over recent years, a few of our NSCC members has completed the Sydney to Gold Coast charity ride for Youth Off the Streets (YOTS). In 2013, Neil Matthews will be doing his sixth ride for YOTS and will be riding with Robert Santone in his first year.

The ride raises much needed funds to help Father Chris Reilly run the YOTS programs. The ride is the largest single contributor to YOTS and has provided valuable help for more than a decade.

So Robert and Neil need your help to raise funds. A number of NSCC members have already made donations, but there is a way to go.

Since 1930 there has always been a Northern Sydney rider who has claimed supremacy. From Ernie Greig to the Spessot's, Vanechop's, Tunbridge's, May's to more recent Vignes, Litchfield, Hickson and Kent. Current pro and neo pro riders 'Mad Dog' Morris and Sally Sit On Williams are being challenged by break way specialists Davies, Garnon and sneaky miler Aitken. There is also young guns Potter and Bailey ready to make new chapter in history. So who really is the true Northern Sydney Cyclng Club Champion?
